James T. Wood
In 1970, Jim joined Coldwell Banker Commercial Brokerage Co. (now known as CBRE) as a sales agent specializing in retail commercial properties, and in 1977 he became the sales manager for the Newport Beach office of Coldwell Banker. In 1978 he left Coldwell Banker to develop neighborhood and community shopping centers and in 1980 he formed Koenig & Wood Development Co., which developed a number of shopping centers throughout Los Angeles, Ventura, and Orange County. In 1988, he formed Wood Investments, Inc., a real estate development company. As president of Wood Investments, Inc., Jim continues to develop neighborhood shopping centers with particular emphasis on infill locations and the redevelopment of existing antiquated centers.

Patrick attended Northeastern University in Boston Mass on a football scholarship, until he eventually transferred to The University of Southern California in 1996. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Planning and Development from USC in 2000.
In 2002 after two years at Neofin Inc., a small water sports company, Patrick entered the Real Estate Commercial Brokerage business with Lee and Associates as Retail Associate. In 2004, Patrick joined Grubb and Ellis Commercial Brokerage as a sales agent specializing in retail commercial properties and development projects in Southern California. He left Grubb and Ellis in 2005 to develop neighborhood and community shopping centers with Yavitz Companies, Inc. During his 10 years at Yavitz Companies, Patrick was a key contributor to the development of several single and multi-tenant shopping centers throughout California and more than $65 million in acquisitions.
As the General Partner of Wood Investments, Patrick is currently developing a number of shopping centers throughout California. Patrick oversees a team which includes Construction, Leasing, Property and Asset Management, and also plays a key role in continuing to acquire, manage and develop neighborhood shopping centers.
Matthew is a Southern California native. Matthew attended University of California at Santa Barbara from 1998 through 2002 and graduated UCSB with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography.
Upon graduation in 2002, Matthew joined Vestal Watch, Inc., a fashion wristwatch and accessory company. As Vestal grew, so did Matthew’s responsibilities. By 2004, Matthew was Vestal’s Production Manager overseeing the timely manufacture and delivery of over 500,000 watches.
In 2004, Matthew made a move to Commercial Real Estate Development. Matthew became the Project Manager for Peninsula Retail Development and later the Fritz Howser Companies. During his tenure at Peninsula and FHC, Matthew was responsible for overseeing the development of shopping centers in the 1-10 acre size range throughout Southern California. Additionally, Matthew oversaw the projects’ Construction and Tenant Improvements. Finally, while with FHC, Matthew managed the acquisition, remodel, leasing and disposition of twelve residential properties. In 2014, Matthew joined Yavitz Companies, Inc. and Wood Investments, Inc. to oversee Entitlements and Construction on all new projects.
At Wood Investments, Matthew’s focus will continue to be the Entitlement and Permitting of projects through Governmental Agencies, as well as the oversight of projects’ Consultant Teams.
James C Wood
James is the newest member to Wood Investments. He graduated from Loyola Marymount University, with a major in History. After college, James worked for a family owned swimming-fin company, Laguna Fin Co. While also being an in house manager for Hobie/Hurley Surf Shop under Hurley Intl. James now specializes in business negotiations and opportunities, as well as property content creation and drone operations.
